OverviewGeita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of North Western Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s South East of the nearest point of Lake Victoria.
The company has its head office in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and also a supporting office in Dar es Salaam.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Provide technical support to the Environment function, collection and transportation of waste, labour, and tools; inspection and maintenance of tools and pieces of equipment; field work, and data collection.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collection and transportation of waste receptacles to landfill or transfer station using a skip loader truck or any other piece of equipment.
- Landfill and waste receptacle inspection to check and report on compliance with waste management requirements.
- Pest control - setting traps, placing baits, fumigation, applying pest control chemicals.
- Daily inspection and cleaning of tools and pieces of equipment
- Field supervision of re-vegetation works
- Collection and transportation of seedlings, tools and other revegetation resources during revegetation period.
- Assist in water sampling programs, meteorological data download, collection of diffusion tubes, dust monitoring and biodiversity monitoring.
- To ensure waste receptacle emptying demand met in time.
- To make sure Pest control calls attended in a timely manner
- To ensure all Environmental tools and equipment’s are in good shape.
- Any other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
